ABOUT ME

Guided by Christ’s love and grace, I am a “boots on the ground” bi-vocational priest who serves the poor and homeless as administrator of a transitional housing program for homeless moms and their children and, priest-in-charge of an enthusiastic community of Christ followers. This blessing allows me to put into word and practice Christ’s love and teaching while empowering the ministry of others.

My passion lies in working with people to spread the love of Christ. I do this through exceptional preaching, creative teaching, story-telling, meaningful worship, and loving pastoral care. Whether breaking ground at affordable housing construction sites, working with those effected by substance abuse disorder, advocating on behalf of the poor, juggling budgets, finding solutions to challenging problems, teaching scripture or offering Bible & Beer at the local craft brewery, I strive to bring Christ’s loving presence to a world in need.

Though I have spent a great deal of time in academia, much of today’s contemporary and forward-thinking education happens in small gatherings in churches, conference centers and ballrooms around the country. Through these gatherings, I have been able to enrich my own faith and spiritual growth as well as inform my understanding of the current climate in which the Church exists. I have been personally inspired and, my ministry and teaching has been influenced by Phyllis Tickle, Brian McLaren, Jacqui Lewis, Frank Thomas, James Forbes, David Buttrick, Tom Boomershine and Presiding Bishop Michael Curry. I believe their joyous and innovative approaches provide direction for the Church and redirect our focus and energy from money, decreasing enrollment and strife, to advancing the Jesus Movement.
